Join staff for a unique opportunity to explore our newest nature preserve, not yet open to the general public. Participants will learn about the history of this beautiful 40 acre parcel, as well as gain an understanding of the importance of the cold water stream that flows through the property. We will test the water temperature as we roll up our jeans to wade across the creek to complete a loop hike. Please note: this off-trail hike of approximately two miles will include moderately strenuous climbs, scrambling over fallen trees and wading through cold, knee-deep water. Trekking poles are recommended. We will meet at the district office and carpool to the site.
