Homeschool in the Woods

Spring session 2025, Fridays 12:30-2:00, April 11-May 30

Join teacher Kiki and friends for fun and learning in the forest! Families with school age children are welcome to join us for this student-centered learning experience. Learners may choose to create a nature journal as a way to guide and document their independent questions and discoveries. By writing, sketching and gathering objects such as mushroom spore prints or pressed plants, students will formulate understandings while building deep connections with the natural world, themselves and others. Each day will include self-directed play and exploration at Basecamp as well as a hike through the woods and waterways of Doolittle County Park and Gales Pond.

Must a parent/ guardian attend with my child?

Families may make arrangements among themselves to ‘take turns’ being the attending adult for up to three children.
