The White River is designated a Natural River by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for good reason. It is a pristine river that passes through a diversity of high quality natural areas such as northern hardwood forests, floodplain forests, and scrub-shrub wetlands. It is also designated as an Important Bird Area for its population of cerulean warblers.
Join Suzie Knoll to learn about the flora and fauna along the White River. The Happy Mohawk Canoe Livery will transport us to Diamond Point. From there it will take about 1 to 1.5 hours to float down the river back to Happy Mohawk. It is an easy float for paddlers who have some experience with canoeing/kayaking. Participants are expected to pay Happy Mohawk directly for the cost of canoe/kayak rental. See their website for pricing information. Space is limited. Call to register.
