Join teacher Kiki and friends for fun and learning in the forest! You and your knee-high naturalist will have a blast as we explore the woods and waterways of Doolittle County Park and Gales Pond. Children will access their sense of awe and curiosity while gaining preschool readiness skills through a variety of learning activities including music and movement, story time, games and crafts. Each day includes a hike as well as open-ended play time at Base Camp where children will enjoy the mud kitchen, construction zone, painting area and lots of climbing opportunities!

enrollment is now closed for Fall Session. Contact educator Kiki to be added to the wait list.

Enrollment for 2027 spring session opens in September.

who can attend?

Our forest school program is designed for budding naturalists in the range of 2-6 years old, with an accompanying adult. Babes in arms are always welcome for no additional fee. We do try to keep our group to a reasonable size for the enjoyment of all, but if space is available, tag-along older siblings and guest visitors may attend for a per day fee of $12 payable on site.

When and where will we meet?

The Knee-High Naturalists program meets on Fridays, 10am-12pm, at Doolittle County Park, N. 112th Ave, Hart, Michigan.

Scholarships are processed in the order in which they are received.

How will participant safety be ensured?

Families may make arrangements among themselves to ‘take turns’ being the attending adult for up to three children.
